This Week at WMS

Hi WMS Families,

We are excited to welcome our Board of Trustees to campus for their meetings this weekend.  New to our calendar is a Saturday morning breakfast that our Young Alumnae/i Trustees are hosting for the Senior Class. Also, this coming Monday we are excited to welcome a group of educational consultants from across the country to our school as part of their annual tour of New Hampshire boarding schools.
Tonight we are excited to host ThreeFifty as our final Cultural Event of the year. This dynamic musical group, who has played WMS before, is sure to wow the audience with both the depth and breadth of their musical talents. The duo is also hosting an workshop this afternoon for WMS musicians which I know many students are excited about.

Yesterday, the entire junior class headed over to Colby-Sawyer College for the Lakes Region Independent Schools College Fair. This annual event, showcasing over 150 colleges and universities from across US, gives great exposure to our students as they work to hone their college lists with our college counselor. All juniors continue to meet regularly with Erik as this process unfolds for them. Lawrence Alexander, our new Director of College Counseling, will be on campus for a few days in May and is excited to get to know our students and begin reaching out to families as he transitions in full time on July 1st.
This weekend, we have our second to last Project Block (F) of the year – wow that is hard to believe! Our Girls Lacrosse team takes on KUA at Dow Field in Franconia on Saturday at 2:30.  The Boy Lacrosse game vs. Holderness has been canceled for this weekend.  In another new addition to our schedule, Ted and Sarah are doing an overnight retreat Saturday with this year’s and next year’s newly elected proctors to discuss this role, study leadership styles and begin the process of training next year’s leaders.
As a reminder, next weekend is our Spring Family Weekend. We are so looking forward to welcoming many of you to campus for a great weekend of activities. Thank you to those of you have have registered to join us next Friday and Saturday. This link from our website will give you the schedule for the weekend as well as provide you with directions on how to register if you have not yet done that. If you have any questions at all about Family Weekend, please let me or Jessica know.

Spring Family Weekend 2015

Many of you have started making travel plans for next year already. A reminder that our 2016-2017 school calendar is up on the website. We have recently added in next year’s Saturday Project Block dates as well and that version will be updated soon in this space. If you have any questions about dates or the calendar in general, please let me know – and thanks for sending us travel plans for June (and for next fall as well!).
Thanks again for sharing your children with us. As time winds down on the academic year, it is amazing to reflect on all that has been accomplished. For any seniors reading this – just remember, we do still have a few weeks to go!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend!
