The White Mountain School is pleased to welcome Brad D’Arco as our new Director of Admission.
Brad comes to us after a serving eight years as Director of Financial Aid and Associate Director of Admissions at Berkshire School in Sheffield, MA.
His leadership, his devotion to his work and his expertise in the world of boarding schools make him an ideal addition to The White Mountain School’s administrative team.
Brad’s experience with boarding school extends well beyond his recent tenure at Berkshire School. A graduate of The Taft School in Watertown, CT, Brad was recognized at Taft for his leadership and sportsmanship on the athletic field as he captained the varsity soccer, hockey and lacrosse teams. After graduating with a B.A. in History from Colgate University, where he was the recipient of the Steven Riggs Scholarship for a deserving American-born varsity hockey player, Brad returned to independent school life as a history teacher at Brunswick School.
In addition to teaching everything from basic American history to 20th
century African politics, Brad has coached, been an advisor and a dorm parent to hundreds of students over the course of his career.
Even after entering the administrative world through the office of admission at the Berkshire School in Sheffield, MA, Brad has continued to embrace the boarding life as teacher,
coach and dorm parent.
Brad’s wife, Linda, is also a career independent school educator. After matriculating from Columbus School for Girls in Columbus, Ohio, Linda earned a B.A. in Political Science and Art/Art History from Colgate University and a M.Ed. from Manhattanville College School of Education.Returning to her independent school roots as an art teacher, Linda also taught for two years at Brunswick School and then eight years at the Berkshire School. Linda has also served as coach, class dean, advisor and dorm parent.In 2011 Linda was the recipient of Berkshire’s Seaver Buck Faculty Award for teaching excellence. Linda joins The White Mountain School as Associate Director of Admission.
Brad’s extensive experience in the field of admissions and financial aid where he has worked to find promising students and help them find a welcoming place at their school, coupled with Linda’s depth of boarding school experiencebodes well for the future of WMS admissions.Welcome, Brad and Linda!
