Students Earn Art Awards

Before the holiday vacation, WMS art students entered work into the largest and longest-running art competition in the country, the Scholastic Art Awards. This month, recipients of the state-level awards were announced and WMS is proud to recognize the following art students for their achievements. In total, 11 individual works and two senior portfolios* earned prizes ranging from Honorable Mention, to the top prize “Gold Key.” Please join us in congratulating these talented young artists.

*Seniors wishing to enter work into the portfolio category were required to submit 12 works of art. Senior Art Portfolio Awards: Ivy Li ’16 (Silver Key), and Leah Chen ’16 (Gold Key)

An on-campus show featuring the work of advanced art students and AP student artists will be on display this spring in the Great Hall gallery. Stay tuned for news of the show.
