Together, We Gave.

How did giving this year support our School? Director of Development and Alumnae/i Julie Yates shares news of a successful fundraising season.

WMS is thrilled to announce a successful year, surpassing our fundraising goals between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014. The Annual Fund, the crucial fundraising vehicle that directly impacts every student, every day, had a target of $500,000 and we raised nearly $520,000. We also raised more than $600,000 in capital, endowment and special gifts and secured new legacy commitments from donors who are including WMS in their estate plans.

Who supported WMS’s 2013-14 fundraising efforts? 100% of our trustees, faculty and staff; 49% of our current families; 14.5% of our alumnae/i. These numbers reflect significant participation increases over last year by WMS faculty/staff, current families and alumnae/i. Additionally, 137 past parents and friends of our School donated in 2013-14.

How many donors supported WMS? 532. This is a marked increase over last year’s 501 donors. Thank you to all of our donors and volunteers for your generous support of The White Mountain School!

How were the gifts to our School used?
Donor support allowed WMS to accomplish many of the goals we set for ourselves in the 2013-14 academic year. Our faculty and staff took advantage of increased professional development opportunities that have been vital to our continued emphasis on authentic inquiry and student-driven learning. We launched a new and much improved website, allowing us to better communicate with our existing community as well as continue to attract great new students. The Houghton Arts Center opened in January to the excitement of our students, alumnae/i and local community alike. Our educational programs and facilities continue to grow as we work to provide the very best teaching and learning environment for the entire WMS community.
